Expanding

So lately, it's been battle to expand our ministry. What with all my servers being quite dead but now I am working to fix the rules, the look of our discord and add descriptions to each channel as I work to promote our community elsewhere. With a little persistence and hope I truly believe I can make this group something that  draws our target audience of Christian nerds, furries, and neurodivergents as well as be a resource for those who may not identify with these titles to learn something new about communities such as these.

So here is a short goals list for our community of Ye Ragmuffin & Warrior Tavern etc.:

  1. Aesthetic: the first goal is to make our discord servers aesthetically pleasing to the eye. With this goal I am decorating and organizing the channels in specific non-chaotic categories. All 3 of our servers are having a makeover such as these
  2. Details: As of right now our channels' descriptions are blank leaving a bit of confusion as to what they are for. With this goal I will elaborate on their purpose so it is more streamline for our users in hopes that they will  be more inclined to use these channels if it fits their desires.
  3. Roles: As of right now roles are chaotic. With the goal I hope to make the roles more understood as well as make self-roles for those who would benefit with them.
  4. Promotion and advertising: As entailed, I will be spreading the news of our whereabouts in forums, discords that allow promoting and in tiktok, twitch, and other platforms. As of right now I have been dependent on people telling friends which is nice in of itself but hard to maintain. So, I will be more active in the promotion arena so that we may find more likeminded individuals to join us.
  5. Activity: Among all this, I have gaming groups on steam, Xbox, MyVMK, Habitica and there I am hoping to continue. Scheduling is rough on my own but I hope to make it more active through these which goes on to  our next goal.
  6. Council: I hope to find trustworthy individuals who are willing to mod and admin alongside with me which is hard in of itself. So once these are accomplished I hope we can make this more invested thru gatherings of faith, mental health, and entertainment.

So far I have well accomplished aesthetic and am well on my way in details and roles. Patience with me would be appreciated as well as possible volunteering and aid. Thank you. And May fair winds follow you and the Author guide you!

Game Night Votes CLOSED

For our Very first event, I want to play a game in our voice game room! Some of these are physical games (of which only one needs others to own regular set so they have their own set of cards... but with it being an almost universal game, I believe that you guys either have it or can easily pick it up even an online one is better than nothing)

Which of these options are more interesting for y'all?

SECOND: A Christian turn-based MMORPG....If you choose this option I'd give you a run-through of this AMAZING game and introduce you to its features.

If you choose this option, you will NOT be required to buy your own set in order to play. We will just hang out and do fitness in our homes and work towards finishing our goals at the same time!

"In the game, you take on the role of one of five Champions to battle in an epic tournament for the glory of being crowned the Knight of Legarren.

Each character has a deck of ability cards at their disposal.  To use those abilities, you must pass an exercise challenge.  The better you perform at that exercise challenge, the more powerful that ability becomes!

The game has three modes: Training, Versus, and Tournament. In Training mode, you work your way through your character's deck, practicing the movements and getting a great at-home workout. In Versus mode, you challenge one other player to a duel, battling until one of you is victorious. Finally, in Tournament mode, up to 5 players compete in an all-out battle royale to determine the Knight of Legarren."

FIRST: MyVMK is the fan-made reboot of once popular 50th Anniversary of Disneyland Event that Disney created and took down once the celebration was over... Now, fans have worked to bring back and even enhance and expand it! If you choose this option, we'll join each other on the server, after creating accounts and play mini-games together (if this is popular we will put up an additional polls to discuss which mini-games we shall play!)

AFTER EACH EPISODE: If you choose this, just grabbing a deck regular uno deck at home is required so that we can skip the daring if y'all choose dares instead! All you'll need is to have your 7 cards in hand and the deck to draw any cards. We will take turns in revealing the cards and colours in the text chat when we do this.
"Familiar UNO game play with a twist
UNO Dare! action cards force your opponent to either draw 2 cards or perform a hilarious dare!
Talk like a pirate! Hold your cards with your feet! Dance like a robot and lots more!
3 different categories with 16 Dares on each card: Family, Show-Off and Daredevil
Includes UNO Dare! rules and 112 playing cards"

EDIT: The order of each game room event will be as followed:

1.) MyVMK as the premiere of our game room! And if we have time for it Uno Dare will be after the event!
2.) The Aetherlight for the next episode & Uno Dare will be after the Aetherlight on our 2nd episode!

please tell me when the best days or times to do these events for you are!

Be Careful Little Heart What You Read, Watch, Hear

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Philippians 4:8

Okay, how does one protect their heart when "devouring" media? How does one have holy eyes, ears, and heart? My daddy once shared a graph for me when I felt convicting to change/get rid of media... Unlike popular Christian opinion, you don't have to watch, read, and listen to all Christian media. Just because the genre is "Christian" doesn't make the media more or less holy.

“The world does not need more Christian literature. What it needs is more Christians writing good literature.”
 CS Lewis

So what can you watch? What can you read? And what can you listen to? Well, first ask these questions, in order

1.) Celebrate: Does it celebrate sin?

Does this particular piece of media celebrate sin? As in, do they call evil good? Does it denigrate women? Does it approve of homosexuality and things that are obviously against God's will?

2.) Accessible: Is this sin accessible?

In this case, in the Bible it says that witchcraft and sorcery is evil and sinful. However in this case, ask yourself what real witchcraft is. It requires candles, sacrifices, pentagrams and pentacles. But fantasy such as Harry Potter (where they are born with  the magical gift and only learning to control it, rather than learning how to do real witchcraft) and fairy tales and stuff, as these things are not accessible, then it isn't the actual witchcraft... and is okay.

3.) Negotiate: Does it negotiate sin?

Negotiating is quite easy to spot "this isn't as bad as...." such and such... Does it dismiss the real evil of the sin?

4.) Is it fulfilling/uplifting?

Alright now onto how it affects you personally... Is what you are watching/reading/listening to fulfilling and uplifting to your soul? Do you feel like it does anything for you? Is it spiritually fulfilling? Or is it spiritually discouraging? Discern the spirit of the media...

5.) How does it make me feel?

This is connected closely to the last question, but a little different: how does what you're watching/reading/listening to make you feel? Does it make you depressed? Anxious? Does it impact your mental health in a way that you don't like?

My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.
