Tavern's Community Rules

RULES OF THE TAVERN

  1.  Speak the Truth in LOVE

"Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted." Galatians 6:1

  1.  Respect this group as a refuge

This group is a refuge for Christians interested in the anthropomorphic arts and those struggling with mental illness, selfharm, addictions, and suicide. This is a place of celebration, encouragement, edification, and a place where Christ is glorified.

One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple. For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.” Psalm 27:4-5

  1. Cyberbullying will NOT be tolerated.

Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.” 1 John 3:15

  1.     No Obscene Language

"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." Eph 4:29 (This does not apply to music, videos, stories, articles etc. shared, & in SOME cases the vlogging audios. Just a warning for all in the audience to be prepared for. But memes still MUST be censored.)

  1. Pornographic Media is STRICTLY Forbidden

“Whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of worthy of praise, think about these things” Philippians 4:8

  1. Divisive political discussions do not belong within this community

Please try to not post political posts and stressful topics in the Ye Ragamuffin & Warrior Tavern, LIGHTforMI Support Group and the R&W Vlog-LARPing group, as it divides us as the Church and Body of Christ.

“I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment. For it has been reported to me by Chloe's people that there is quarreling among you, my brothers. What I mean is that each one of you says, “I follow Paul,” or “I follow Apollos,” or “I follow Cephas,” or “I follow Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?” 1 Corinithians 1:10-13

  1. Three Strikes and You're Out (ALL GROUPS)

Any rules broken depending on the level of severity will earn 1.) 3 warnings (2-wk suspensions in cases of severe rules) 2.) 2-wk suspensions (1month with severe rules) 3.) 1-yr bans (3rd ban final) Matthew 18:15-17 & Matthew 10:11-15

“As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him.” Titus 3:10

  1. In this world you WILL have trouble

In this group we are not squeamish over troubles being portrayed. Some darker themes in art, such as mental illness, self-harm, suicide etc. are encouraged as long as they do not glorify gore, or extremely graphic imagery (as in Saw-styled), as we hope to break the stigma around mental illness as well in this community. With that said, any darker themed images must be shared by link with a trigger warning for the sake of others who struggle with mental illness etc. If you’re unsure about whether or not what you are sharing is okay for this group, share it with @thegryphonwing privately and she’ll let you know.

“Behold, the hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:32-33

  1. Come as you are

Membership is open to anybody who supports anthro arts (regardless of whether they call themselves "furry" or not) and holds to the historic truths of the Apostolic and Nicene Creeds (regardless of whether they call themselves Protestant, Catholic, or Orthodox). Matthew 11:25-30

RULES OF THE WOLF GUARD/BOOKDRAGONS & SCRIPTSMITHS

  1. We moderate the group with the C.A.N. Acronym Approach

Does it celebrate sin? - Does this particular piece of media celebrate sin? As in, do they call evil good? Does it denigrate women? Does it celebrate death or sexual immorality?

Is the sin accessible? - In this case, in the Bible it says that witchcraft and sorcery is evil and sinful. However, ask yourself what real witchcraft is. It requires candles, sacrifices, pentagrams and pentacles. But fantasy such as Harry Potter (where they are born with  the magical gift and only learning to control it, rather than learning how to do real witchcraft) and fairy tales and stuff, as these things are not accessible, then it isn't the actual witchcraft... and thus is okay.

Does it normalize sin? -  There is a difference between normalizing the existence of sin/sinners between normalizing sin. Understanding that there are those who partake in sin is a good thing but normalizing the sin itself is not.

  1. We also recognize that we aren’t convicted the same

So we have exceptions with how strict we use the previous approach and remind all of Romans 14 once again.

  1. If all of the previous points check out for you then

We encourage others to ask a few general questions for them(and encourage others to respect these aspects of their boundaries. In any fandom we really try to avoid toxicity in this group!):

  • Is it fulfilling/uplifting? - How does it affect you personally... Is what you are watching/reading/listening to fulfilling and uplifting to your soul? Do you feel like it does anything for you? Is it spiritually fulfilling? Or is it spiritually discouraging? Discern the spirit of the media…

  • How does it make me feel? - This is connected closely to the last question, but a little different: how does what you're watching/reading/listening to make you feel? Does it make you depressed? Anxious? Does it impact your mental health in a way that you don't like? It could be fullfilling/uplifting in general but if it still triggers you personally it isn’t for you.

  1. Back in regards to boundaries

Remember this is NOT the place to troll, hate spam, or discourage anyone for their beliefs, fandoms, or what they find entertaining. If we find you doing ANY of these things, we’ll ban your booty faster than you can say anything!
